We're OBSESSED.
BUSINESS TIME.
Sarah and Jeremy began Berkeley's Haas School of Business Evening and Weekend MBA program in 2024. Orientation arrived, and it was time to meet their cohortmates. They decided to all meet up at the restaurant of the hotel at which they were staying. Jeremy was the first one there. Sarah was the second.
Sarah sat down and thought, "So this is another MBA student! He seems cool, which is unexpected." After they talked for a little while, she thought, "Huh. This guy is funny and interesting and cute and kind and man; if he were a little bit older, I would definitely have a crush on him. It's a good thing he's not." Jeremy thought, "Wow. She's a total badass."
They became fast friends.
NOW KISS.
When there is an election in the House of Representatives that could have a tight or contested outcome, a House committee sends staffers from each side of the aisle to document what's happening in case things go to court. Sarah volunteered to document tight races in L.A. County for the Nov. 2024 election, and got a call that she was going to be deployed in Omaha instead. She said, "Great!" and stressed that if there were still races happening in L.A. after Omaha wrapped up, she'd be happy to go there.
The House committee actually did still need people in L.A.! Sarah called Jeremy to let him know that she was coming to to work in the City of Industry, and asked if she should stay in Pasadena, where he lived, or in Redondo Beach, where her aunt lives. He said that she should definitely not stay in Pasadena because it was too far away. He could come wherever she was. Naturally, she called him a couple of days later and said, "So, I'm staying in Pasadena," and he knew that she had a crush on him. She also suspected that he had a crush on her, because she is not dumb.
One day while Sarah was in L.A., she got the morning off. She and Jeremy spent the morning wandering the Huntington Garden, enjoying great company and conversation. They then went to City of Industry to tour the ballot counting center, and then went to Lucky Baldwin's Pub in Pasadena to study. They talked until 1:30 a.m., when the waiter threw candy on their table to kick them out.
After leaving, Sarah kissed Jeremy, which took all of her courage. He kissed her back like three times in succession, but then said that they couldn't kiss because, "What if we break up? We're in the same cohort!" Sarah said that she didn't think that they would break up, and Jeremy agreed. Ha HA! And look at us now.
TIME WITH OUR HEADS IN THE CLOUDS.
Sarah made up some excuse as to why Jeremy should come visit in D.C., and he delightly accepted Sarah's invitation. He fell in love with Aiden, the wonderful human whom Sarah is fortunate to call her kid, and with KitKat and Freyja, the sweetest cats in all the land. He and Sarah also fell in love. In a very on-brand move, Jeremy and Tim, Sarah's brother, told each other that they loved each other before Jeremy and Sarah did.
Jeremy and Sarah spent the first half of 2025 going back and forth, accumulating and using frequent flier miles, and finding that life was a lot better when the other person was around. They felt safe and energized and calm around each other. And they still do!
SCHMOOVIN'.
Jeremy and Sarah both wanted to move to the Bay Area to take in-person classes, and Aiden accepted an offer at UC Davis! Thus, they all moved to NorCal, where they are to this very day.
HERE WE ARE TODAY.
Aiden told Sarah and Jeremy in December 2025 that he wouldn't be mad if they got married, which was, as it turns out, a signal that they both needed. Their parents met over New Year's Eve, and they had a blast together. Now, they shall be wed. They can't wait to start this exciting new chapter of their lives -- lives which you enhance. They would be honored if you would come celebrate with them. LET'S GOOOOO!
